Facilities
The two facilities are operated together as one business, together serving all customers as the AECO Hub™. The diversity of two facilities in different locations in Alberta enhances reliability, but the toll design of TransCanada’s Alberta pipeline system means that they are both, commercially, at the same point. That commercial location, commonly referred to as ‘AECO’ or ‘NIT’ (Nova Inventory Transfer) is one of the most liquid trading locations for natural gas on the continent.
